If a foreign national visits India for more than 180 days in a row, they must register with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO). When your visa expires and you need to leave the country, you must apply for an Exit Permit to lawfully exit.

If any foreign visitor visit in India stays more than 180 days continuously, they must register at the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO). You need to apply for an exit permit to leave legally from the country once your Visa expires and when it’s time for you to leave.

Exit Permits should only be obtained from the Foreigners Registration Office (FRO) & Foreign Regional Registration Offices ( FRRO) where the foreigner has registered.

Foreign Individuals who have overstayed in India for three months or less can take their exit permission from the concerned authorities. Exit permission is only allowed when FRRO and FRO check all the required documents.
